Ma`rifat Falsafi

Contemporary human sciences are confronted with a profound epistemological crisis arising from the dominance of a paradigm grounded in unsubstantiated metaphysical assumptions, such as methodological naturalism and a self-founded anthropology. By limiting existence solely to the material realm and systematically excluding non-material explanations, this paradigm has forfeited the capacity to fully address the intricate existential dimensions of human beings. This study, employing a foundational-analytical approach, contends that overcoming this crisis is not achievable through intra-discursive modifications but requires the philosophical reconstruction of method alongside the establishment of an alternative Monotheistic Paradigm. The paper first offers a critical analysis of the postulates underpinning the prevailing paradigm and subsequently constructs the metaphysical framework of the alternative paradigm based on foundational principles including Stratified Realism, the Principle of Manifestation, and a Fitra-based anthropology. It further demonstrates how this novel paradigm, by reconceptualizing falsifiability and emphasizing the testability of the implications (lawāzim) of theories derived from its hard core, can facilitate the production of objective knowledge and valid explanations of human phenomena. The principal conclusion of this research is that the Monotheistic Paradigm provides a coherent and epistemically generative framework which, by addressing the ontological and anthropological deficiencies of secular science, opens new avenues for research in the human sciences.
