    Abstract: 
    هگل فیلسوف غامض گو و پیچیده نویسی است که تفسیر دیدگاه هایش در میان متخصصان فن، ماجرای درازدامنی دارد. برخی وی را به اعتقاد به همه خدایی، همه درخدایی و حتی کفر متهم ساخته اند و برخی دیگر وی را ستوده اند؛ اما آنچه پیداست این است که هگل خود را متعهد به مسیحیت لوتری دانسته، دامن خود را از این اتهامات برمی شوید. دزموند فیلسوف معاصری است که پس از 25 سال مطالعه در آراء هگل، در کتابی با عنوان خدای هگل: بدَلِ ساختگی؟ به تفسیر دیدگاه هگل درباره خدا و دین پرداخته است. این کتاب، که آکنده از اصطلاحات پیچیده فلسفه هگل و نیز نوواژه های خاص خود دزموند است، در این مقاله مورد بررسی و نقد اجمالی قرار گرفته است. نکته مهم در این بررسی تأکید آن بر این نکته است که باید از داوری شتاب زده درباره فیلسوف بزرگی چون هگل پرهیز کرد و بدون هیچ گونه محدودنگری به سایر دیدگاه هایی که در تفسیر نظرپردازی های هگل درباره دین مطرح شده اند، توجه کرد.
