The main question is: what criterion distinguishes action from other behaviors? In response to this question, various criteria have been suggested, but none have been able to comprehensively cover all dimensions of human action. The authors have attempted to provide a precise criterion for distinguishing action from other behaviors using Transcendent Theosophy, they have addressed the strengths and weaknesses of existing viewpoints, too. Given the complexity and diversity of human agency in various acts, the authors believe that: ‘the existence of knowledge involved in the act’ can be introduced as the criterion for distinguishing action from other behaviors. مقالة حاضر به بررسی یکی از مسائل اساسی در فلسفة عمل، یعنی «چیستی عمل» می‌پردازد. هدف اصلی این مقاله تبیین تفاوت میان دو امر است: عمل با وقایعی که صرفاً بر ما می‌گذرد و هرچند توسط ما انجام می‌شوند، اما به‌عنوان عمل شناخته نمی‌شوند. پرسش اصلی این است که چه معیاری عمل را از سایر رفتارها متمایز می‌کند؟ در پاسخ به این پرسش، معیارهای مختلفی ارائه شده، اما هیچ‌یک نتوانسته‌اند تمام ابعاد عمل انسانی را به‌طور جامع پوشش دهند. نویسندگان کوشیده‌اند با استفاده از حکمت متعالیه، معیار دقیقی برای تمایز عمل از سایر رفتارها ارائه دهند، ضمن اینکه به نقاط قوت و ضعف دیدگاه‌های موجود نیز پرداخته‌اند. با توجه به پیچیدگی و تنوع فاعلیت انسان در افعال گوناگون، نگارندگان معتقدند: «وجود علمِ دخیلِ در فعل» را می‌توان به‌مثابة ملاک تمایز عمل از سایر رفتارها معرفی کرد. https://marefatfalsafi.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefatfalsafi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5001188-1757128411.pdf
